Egg Rattles — Soft Sounds, First Grasps

The Wooden Egg Rattle set is a handcrafted baby rattle toy designed to introduce babies to gentle sound, movement and early grip practice through simple sensory play. The set includes two egg rattles that create a soft, natural sound when shaken.

The rattles help babies connect movement with sound in a calm, screen-free way. This cause-and-effect play supports auditory awareness, hand-eye coordination, grip strength, sensory development and early motor skills, while the smooth, rounded shape offers tactile stimulation.

Known in many Indian homes as a jhunjhuna or khulkhula toy, it brings traditional sound play into a simple, baby-friendly design. Handcrafted with child-safe materials and finished with a non-toxic coating, it is made for everyday sensory play under adult supervision.

Why families abroad love it

For families living away from India, the jhunjhuna (or khulkhula) is a familiar toy in many Indian homes. These handcrafted egg rattles bring that traditional sound play into a baby’s early exploration, with a soothing sound that attracts attention and encourages grasping.

Shaking, listening and learning that every shake makes a sound gives babies a simple, screen-free introduction to cause and effect, wherever home is.
